cmap

Description
cmap performs conversion of a map in HEALPix to GLESP using spline interpolation for repixelization. On conversion to GLESP, the resolution can be determined by the $N_{side}$ value in HEALPix, or the resolution can be set separately.

cmap can display values in HEALPix data: display the temperature values of a HEALPix map, or list the map in $\theta$, $\phi$, temperature in ASCII format. cmap can read the 2nd field of HEALPix Binary Table Extension if exists.

Examples

1. Repixelization of a HEALPix map or mask:
   • cmap map.healpix.fits -o map.glesp
     repixelizes a HEALPix map ' map.healpix.fits' to GLESP format and outputs to ' map.glesp.fits'.

   • cmap -cn map_kp2_mask_yr1_v1.fits -o kp2.glesp.fits
     repixelizes the WMAP kp2 mask ' map_kp2_mask_yr1_v1.fits' to GLESP and outputs to ' kp2.glesp.fits'.

2. Displaying values in a HEALPix file:
   • cmap map.healpix.fits -g -o map.healpix.ascii
     reads HEALPix file ' map.healpix.fits' and outputs 3 columns: $\theta$, $\phi$ and temperature to ASCII file ' map.healpix.ascii'.

   • cmap map.healpix.fits -cr -13.26d,150.56d
     displays the temperature value at the Galactic coordinates $(b,l)=(-13.26,150.56)$ (degs) on a HEALPix map ' map.healpix.fits'.

   • cmap map.healpix.fits -g -cn -o counts.txt
     reads the HEALPix file ' map.healpix.fits' from the 2nd field of Binary Table Extension and outputs 3 ASCII columns: $\theta$, $\phi$ and hits, to file ' counts.txt'.
